The UIDAI has announced that anyone can change their date of birth using Aadhaar update online service.
Aadhaar card update online:
Aadhaar is one of the significant documents for a person’s KYC. It’s not just used for address and ID proof, it can also be used for availing various government backed subsidies and government schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, etc.
In case if the Aadhaar card holder’s date of birth is found to be wrong, it should be immediately rectified and make one’s KYC document proof. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has reported that one can change the date of birth using Aadhaar update online service of the UIDAI. It also provided with a direct link— ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/login.html for Aadhaar card holders who want to change their date of birth.
By providing direct link to edit date of birth in one’s Aadhaar card, the UIDAI tweeted, “Update your DOB online through the provided link – https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/, upload the scanned copy of your original document and apply.” The UIDAI also gave a link that leads to the strong supportive documents that are necessary for date of birth update in one’s Aadhaar card.
According to the UIDAI, supportive documents that one’ can deliver while changing date of birth in Aadhaar card. The list contains passport, PAN card, ration/PDS photograph card, elector ID, Driving License (DL), etc. There are 32 PoI (post of identity) documents containing name and photograph referenced in the list, which an Aadhaar card user can scan and upload while changing an individual’s date of birth using Aadhaar update service of the UIDAI.
How to update date of birth in Aadhaar card in online
To update date of birth in Aadhaar card online, one can log in to — ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ and follow the steps below:
1] Open the given UIDAI URL and login — ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/;
2] Enter 12-digit Aadhaar card number;
3] Enter captcha or verification code;
4] Click ‘Send OTP’;
5] OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number linked with Aadhaar;
6] Submit OTP sent to your registered mobile number;
7] You can login into your account and all your Aadhaar details will be displayed;
8] Update your date of birth mentioned there;
9] Upload the scanned ID proof out of the above-mentioned 32 list of documents mentioned by the UIDAI;
10] Click on ‘Submit’ button.
The process for change of date of birth through online will be done after you click on submit button.
