Aadhaar card is proof of identity and address for an individual in India. In this article we will explain a clear step by step process of downloading the e-Aadhar card with the help of enrolment number (EID).

The Aadhaar card serves as a proof of identity and address for a person born in India. When you enroll for an Aadhaar card you can download and print your card by using the enrollment ID provided to you. But, if in the case you have not received your Aadhaar card or you have failed to remember your Aadhaar number, you can still download the updated Aadhar card by entering the Aadhaar Enrolment Number (EID).

For the people who don’t, the EID is a 14 digit number which is provided on the enrollment/acknowledgment receipt issued to you while enrolling to your Aadhaar card.

Here is a detailed step by step process you can follow to download the e-Aadhar card by using enrolment number (EID).

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI official site, https://uidai.gov.in/

Step 2: Select My Aadhaar from the options provided

Step 3: From the drop-down menu select Download Aadhaar.

Step 4: Enter the 14 digits ENO and 14 digit Date-Time stamp imprinted on the enrolment slip on the Download Aadhaar page.

Step 5: Enter the Date, Time and Captcha verification code.

Step 6: Click on send OTP button.

Step 7: Enter OTP you have received on your registered mobile number.

Step 8: You will be redirected to a new page.

Step 9: Click the Verify and Download button, to download your eAadhaar card.

A PDF file will be downloaded. The PDF will be password protected and you simply need to enter the password to open the document.

Password: The secret password will be the combination of your name and date-of-birth. You have to enter, the initial four letters of your name as referenced on the Aadhaar card in capital letters and year of birth in YYYY format.

Note: For example, assuming that you go by PRIYA SINGH and your year of birth is 1994, then, at that point, PRIY1994 will be your password.

That is it! When you enter the password, your e- Aadhaar card will be shown up on the screen which is ready for print.
